Unlike traditional chat-first AI tools, Canvas allows you to begin with existing content. Start with a blank text editor or import existing documents. This approach recognizes that most users already have some content and want to iterate rather than start from scratch.

Navigation Methods:

  • Within graph8: Select "AI Canvas" from the left sidebar under the AI TOOLS section to open the Canvas interface

AI Model Configuration

Canvas provides three specialized AI models for different use cases:

Model Selection

  • g8-standard - Balanced model for general writing and content creation

  • g8-reasoning - Advanced model for complex analysis and logical tasks

  • g8-research - Specialized model optimized for research and fact-finding tasks (marked as "New!")

Model Parameters

Temperature Control

  • Purpose - Controls creativity and randomness in AI responses

  • Range - Adjustable slider with settings from focused to creative

  • Low Temperature (0.1-0.3) - Produces focused, consistent, and predictable outputs

  • Medium Temperature (0.5-0.7) - Balanced creativity and consistency

  • High Temperature (0.8-1.0) - More variety, imagination, and creative responses

  • Default Setting - 0.5 for optimal balance

Max Tokens

  • Purpose - Sets the maximum length of AI responses

  • Function - More tokens allow for longer, more detailed responses

  • Range - Adjustable from short responses to comprehensive outputs (up to 4096 tokens)

  • Consideration - Higher token limits enable more thorough responses but may increase processing time

Reset to Defaults - Quickly restore optimal settings with one click
